Three Weeks

The babies turned three weeks yesterday. Their little eyes are opened and each one is up on all fours moving around rather quickly. They are so cute! You can really see the little curls starting to come in and their colors change slightly each day – darkening to give them that special Goldendoodle glow up.

Yesterday we removed three of the rails that help to protect them the first few weeks and we added in the potty tray! Yay for potty learning. It’s amazing how quickly they take to using the grass. It’s interesting you have puppies who have just begun to really walk upright and who’s eyes have been opened for mere days yet they are fully capable of understanding and commuting to the use of a potty tray in order for their den to stay clean. AMAZING.

In the next few days huge changes will take place such as removing their whelping box and giving them a [slightly] larger living area. That area will increase each week as they grow and as they navigate learning how the potty area works. We will begin offering water as week four approaches. Mama will still spend lots of time nursing, cleaning and teaching these babies each day.

The bigger changes to the puppies are coming. We will add in toys and new big ticket items as they progress and you will be shocked right alongside us at how quickly they grow and learn. Raising litters never gets old – we are constantly in awe of this little cycle of birth to eight weeks where we help ready them for their furever homes.

Be watching as their little personalities start to shine through! Thank you for following along with their journey. Xo
