We are so excited to watch each of these puppies’ personalities unfold and to begin matching them with their perfect families at six weeks of age. This litter is expected to have beautiful curly or wavy coats, with black noses and rich, dark eyes. When fully grown, we anticipate they will mature around 55–60 pounds. Happy December yall! It’s the last month of 2024 so we really want it to count. Today we celebrate three milestones! Our Originals litter of 2020 turned four! (Happy birthday)! Today is the anniversary of our Calliope Jane’s gotcha day! She is our first doodle and she is the one who started us down the dood journey path. As our foundation girl she has given us amazing litters and we adore having her in our family. Our third celebration for today was sending Maui to his forever home. He is the last puppy from our only litter of 2024 to go home and we are so thrilled that each one of the 10 found their matches!

This year we had the birth of our first F1b Saint Berdoodle litter. They were born in May and were the only litter born here at Pasatiempo Ranch in 2024. It was a year we wanted to hold back on producing puppies and really work on training and deciding where our program direction is going. While we may not have had lots of puppies born here this year we were always very busy!
We have lots of big plans for 2025 and the puppies who we are planning for. Our goal is not only to design amazing little additions to your family but also to produce service and therapy pups as well as companion animals to those who so desperately need assistance in daily routines and life in general. Can you believe it’s September already? The summer flew past us and now the leaves are going to begin to change, we will have cool crisp mornings and the birds will start migrating to warmer climates…. Just kidding. We are in South Texas – we will have summer until we don’t. The days will eventually cool down a bit and you’ll see our pups back out on long walks and hikes and outings we can’t go on in the hot summer months. We always look forward to this time of the year.
Joies first pumpkin season Winnie’s first pumpkin season
We have two females left from our 2024 Saint Berdoodle litter who are still looking for their forever homes! Laguna and Bondi are the sweethearts of our little puppy preschool class. By the end of this week they will both have their third round of vaccines and be ready to visit pumpkin patches and do all the things autumn dogs like to do. So many firsts are coming up and we hope that they’ll get to experience them with their forever families. If not then they will go for first pup cups and fall flower shopping with us. We never mind raising older pups. At three months it is our honor to take them out to experience the world around us. Socializing them and continuing to introduce them to the big world around us is always one of the most fun pieces of raising pups.
On the subject of puppies our keeper babe from this litter who was originally called Waikiki has formally been named Danni. She is named for a favorite Formula One driver. Her mother is called Joie so we thought it was cute that they both will have names people expect to be boys when they come running. Danni is a brown and white version of her black and white Mama and we couldn’t bear to separate them as Joie absolutely still loves to mother these floofs. She spends hours each day hanging out with them and has been the most attentive mom to her growing babes.

Speaking of hanging out with dogs our older and big pups are doing great. We’ve had a fun filled summer with loads of pool days and fun. We’ve developed a few new systems and training techniques that are working well with our pack. We’ve changed the fencing (again) because ranching any animal is always 80% about the fences. We are about to open the puppy room completely up next weekend so the younger puppies will have full access to the common area of the house at all times. This will integrate them with the older dogs and just get them accustomed to being able to interact with day to day going ons such as meeting and greeting delivery people, watching (and not reacting) to creatures who live outside and of course not darting out the front door when it opens. The older dogs are always good at helping to teach the manners we expect here at Pasatiempo Ranch.

Puppy dogs. We do so love them don’t we?! We have a plethora of puppies currently and we really want them to end up in amazing doodle homes. Each babe has a specific personality and trait that makes them special. Our puppies are vet checked, have current vaccines, they are microchipped and they go home with one month of complimentary pet insurance. Our puppy bags consist of a few toys, a blanket, food and vitamin samples. We also offer lifetime support – we are always a text away for your questions.

Our Highwaymen Litter of six Goldendoodles are seven weeks and saw our veterinarian today for their first set of shots! Everyone had a clean bill of health and omgooodness y’all – they were so good and well behaved like our puppies always are! They slept the entire ride there and back! We are so proud of them!
These babies will start going to their furever homes this weekend and we do have availability. We really want our puppies to go home to amazing doodle homes – reach out because we want to place our puppies with the best families and we are always happy so work with you to make that happen! Our puppies are using grass turf for pottying and sleeping through the night. Crate training has also already begun. They are used to being handled regularly, bathed, brushed and blow dried and used to having their nails clipped. we do car rides and lots of introductions to noises, people and objects so our puppies are developmentally ready to move to their next phase of their lives.

Our Highwaymen litter turned four weeks today! They have had a busy few days. We extended their puppy living area and started them on turf training for potty learning. They also started on mush which is a mix of goats milk, filtered water, and the puppy kibble that we use for all our pregnant, whelping dogs and puppies. We have also slowly been adding in toys to the play area which if you’ve been watching our insta stories you’d have seen they absolutely love! The puppies are growing by leaps and bounds! It is so exciting to be here for the litter planning, birth and then experience each milestone afterwards. Do you know that when puppies are born they are completely blind and deaf?? They depend completely on their mother to care and nurture them. Mother Nature is so amazing how these tiny puppies are able to find their food and warmth without those senses. Incredible isn’t it?
Irishdoodle – light purple collar
We currently have two litters at the same time which is a first for us. It is busy but so much fun. Both mama pups are doing great. We spend lots of time cooking for them and making sure they are comfortable and clean. The whelping boxes are cleaned top to bottom several times a day and the puppies are handled numerous times throughout the day so that they are used to being snuggled and cuddled plus we monitor their weights closely the first month to be sure they are gaining a bit each day.

Speaking of cooking our Mama dogs have kibble available to them at all times; we use TLC brand https://tlcpetfood.com/nutrition/pasatiemporanch/which is what our puppies will eat from the time they start mush. We also make special meals for them altering between beef and chicken plus veggies. They eat yogurt and cottage cheese, have constant access to fresh water and love to drink a few bowls of goats milk each day. We also make a recipe called Mothers Pudding which is a super rich pudding with eggs and milk. Our Mamas love eggs – we feed them hard boiled and scrambled eggs everyday. We do everything we can to ensure they hold a steady weight and are also producing loads of milk so those puppies can grow. Additionally we prepare a type of meatball consisting of hamburger meat, total cereal, oats, eggs and molasses along with a few other ingredients that are served raw. The girls gobble those up and it is the very best way to put or keep a consistent weight on a nursing dog.

The Goldendoodle litter will likely start mush next week during week 3 – we don’t rush things – we like to see how everyone is progressing and determine if they are ready as a whole versus sticking to a strict schedule that might not work from one litter to the next. The little personalities are starting to show and they are precious!

Sunday our Irishdoodles will be two weeks old and some of them are already beginning to open their eyes. They are all gaining weight and growing each day. Their colors are really beginning to shine through and they are beautiful.
