Y’all! Can you believe the babies are one month old already? Look at how big they are getting! They are eating mush twice per day and getting lots and lots of play time and of course much needed sleep and rest. When they aren’t eating, playing, or sleeping these babies are being cuddled and snuggled by us! It’s truly such a sweet life to have these amazing babies by our side even if it’s only for a short time before they transition to their forever homes and families!
Please don’t forget to follow us on instagram for daily updates. We love sharing videos and pictures with y’all! We will do puppy picks in two weeks in the order that your reservation was made so please do not wait!
Happy June y’all! The puppies tried mush for the first time yesterday – tomorrow they turn four weeks and introducing food is just one of the next steps to getting them ready for their next stage. Mush consists of dry puppy food blended into a mushy liquid form with water and canned pumpkin. The puppies love it and their Mama loves finishing up what they have leftover!
As the puppies get older they continue to sleep most every hour of the day but they have moments of wakefulness where they play and wrestle together and RUN! They are starting to explore the puppy room too – they climb and crawl under surfaces and find little hiding spots. All that action calls for many naps! In the coming days we will slowly introduce a bigger play area with toys – we move fairly slowly in the coming weeks as to not overwhelm the babies as there is no rush and we want them to take their time to develop properly!
Sound asleep
June has been a very hot month already with temps around 105 each day so we are still limiting outdoor time for the rest of our pack. When we introduce the newest litter to the outdoors it will be at sunup and sundown. They have taken well to their inside grass – potty learning is an important part of life here – our hope is always that our commitment to starting potty training so early will help them transition quickly in their next home.
Our Riverdale litter will turn one on the 3rd of July and we are so excited for a wonderful first year. We love watching them grow up and we adore seeing pictures of them and hearing stories about the pups!

Sending lots of love your way for an exciting and eventful summer! Xoxo
June already! It definitely feels like summer here in Texas! Each day we wake up early and go out to play in the pools and sprinklers. After a little dry off (shake it off) the pups have breakfast. Then a long nap that’s followed by training and grooming – lots of cuddles and pets and maybe a nice movie that will catch a certain pup (or more) interest. By then it’s time for more outdoor play which always includes water during the hottest season of the year. After dinner we settle in for the night and typically split who hangs out where depending on what each family member is into that evening. Our dogs are raised completely underfoot and in our home and hearts. We use crate training for our babies before they go to their new homes but the dogs that live in our home do not utilize crates once they are older. It’s what works for our family but we do highly recommend crate training for pups.
On the subject of crates we do believe that creating a safe space for your best friend is a great way to raise your floofy friend. When Calliope was young each night she would go to our door and wait to be let in and then go straight into her crate for the night. A little personal den is the perfect place for your puppy to get the rest and relaxation time they need. Just keep in mind a crate is not a place to “store” your puppy or a place to send them to when they’ve misbehaved. You want your puppies crate to be a positive area! There is an entire section devoted to crate training that is offered in the training program Baxter & Bella which we highly recommend to all our puppy parents. You can use code PASATIEMPORANCH for 25% off the lifetime membership.
Young Calliope when she needed that nightly reprieve and would wait each evening to sleep in her crate!
We hope your month will be fabulous! We plan to post lots of updates and pictures so please be sure to check back often! Xoxo
The puppies turn one week old today! We spend the first week making sure Mama is doing well with lots of special meals and pets and daily checks on her well being to ensure she’s getting everything she requires to take the best care of her puppies.
Puppy handling the first ten days is extremely minimal. We weigh them daily and begin ENI (early neurological stimulation exercises as well as early scent introduction on day 4. We are obviously always thrilled when everyone is having healthy daily gains yet always prepared in case anyone needs extra help. Happily this litter is thriving.
Their little eyes are starting to open and in about a week we will add a potty tray into their space which will encourage them to begin their potty learning. Right now the puppies sleep and eat and that is what we want.
This litter of puppies have beautiful shiny fur with gorgeous markings. If you are interested in a puppy from Alfie & Bindi please contact us to be placed on the list. We share daily pictures and videos on our social media page.
